A food diary is daunting at first but a great way to start looking at daily nutrition habits. Of course a food diary requires complete honesty, every meal, snack, cup of tea and sneaky fridge trip. It’s aim is to identify trends such as what triggers snacking, keeps you full, makes you feel good, makes you lethargic, when and where you eat . This is all vital to begin creating a food plan which works for your lifestyle.
I would recommend using the food diary for a week before starting your food plan. This should give enough information to build a picture. Then go back to it a few weeks later to see how it’s working for you and what can be improved on.
